Cleansing your skin is important for a number of reasons. The skin is exposed to a number of pollutants on a daily basis and it needs to be cleansed to help clear away the toxins. There are a number of types of skin cleansers and for many types of skin the choice of the product will differ somewhat.
In all cases though, cleansing should be a part of a daily skin care routine.
The first type of skin cleanser is soap. Even though it may not cleansing as much as soap, it does get rid of the surface dirt and does leave the skin feeling a little bit soft. The only drawback is that it can be drying to the skin as well as being harsh. Cleansing using soap is only recommended for people with very dry skin as it tends to dry the skin even further.
A second type of cleanser is a creamy cleanser. These, as the name suggests, are more emollient than abrasive. While they may smell nice they can be drying to the skin as well. You want to look for a cleanser that is much gentler than cream based cleansers.
The third type of skin cleanser is a clear cleanser. These look like thin wash. They gel or go onto the skin and immediately remove all the dirt. However, they should be avoided by people with sensitive skin as they may trigger a reaction.
A fourth type of cleanser is a cleanser that contains alpha hydroxy acids. Examples of these types of acids include glycolic and malic acid. While they may help to improve the appearance of the skin, they can be extremely irritating if not used properly. Many people with sensitive skin have a bad reaction to these ingredients.
A fifth type of cleanser is a condition cleansing gel. These, as the name suggests, are cleansing gel-based. However, unlike the other types of cleansers, they do not sit on the skin. Rather, they are washed off as soon as they are applied. Condition cleansing gel is one of the more popular choices among people with sensitive skin.
6th type of skin cleanser is a re cleansing cleanser. These are so strongly formulated that they can be used as an all-purpose type of cleanser. However, because they are so strong, they may be uncomfortable for some people to use.
7th type of cleanser is a deep cleansing mask. People who have combination skin may find them a little too heavy for them. However, for people with dry skin, they can be perfect as they can deeply penetrate the skin and thoroughly cleanse it.
Another solid option is a cleaning mask. These can be homemade or designed and bought for professionals use at salons. However, keep in mind that some people may not like the idea of cleaning their face with a strong concoction of green goo and dirt.
However there are some depthier options than a cleansing mask or a deep cleansing mask. However, they work great as cleansers.
For example, for dry skin, a hydrating mask will often work very well because it can be applied all over the body and can retain a lot of moisture.
As for people with oily skin, a clay or mud mask will work wonders as they can effectively suck up all the excess oil.
A moisturizing mask is usually suitable for all skin types, as it will both hydrate your skin and leave it nice and soft. However, if you have sensitive skin, be careful that the products used aren’t too harsh as they may trigger a reaction.
Another bit of advice is to make sure you clean your face in the morning and in the evening to remove all traces of make up and dirt which has accumulated on the surface of your skin.
7th StepNow that you have pretty much completed all the steps above, the last step to remember is a good moisturize. It should contain a lot of moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, and vitamin E. A high quality moisturizer should absorb quickly, so you don’t need to worry about it staining your clothes or smelling funny.
If you follow these steps to cleanse your skin, and use a good quality moisturizer confidently, you should notice an immediate improvement in the quality of your skin. These steps are, of course completely optional but, by following them you should notice a much smoother and softer face with less spots.
