Guess Releases 30th Anniversary Capsule Collection Modeled by Claudia Schiffer

When you think Guess, you think of a gorgeous, sexy blonde, red lips and long legs wearing a pair of denim shorts, right? What better way than to celebrate 30 years of the iconic American brand than returning where it all started? A return to the ultimate blonde supermodel.

You heard it here first! That’s right, , The one and only Claudia Schiffer is back in a brand new ad campaign to mark the 30th Anniversary of Guess.. It’s a  15-piece capsule collection inspired by the stunning supermodel as well as her fellow Guess Girls, dubbed the 30th Anniversary Collection.

Guess is returning to the roots with T-shirts emblazoned with Guess Royalty Anna Nicole Smith’s face. A sheerleopard-print blouse, jeans with a cut-off waistband and a black-and-white gingham top originally worn by Eva Herzigova. The three-zipper Marilyn jeans that first launched the brand are up for grabs once again! Absolutely brilliant!.

The year was 1981 when Guess, the brand, that now offers watches, jewelry, perfumes, and children’s clothing r as well as their top-notch denim, was founded by four Jewish Moroccan brothers. In 1989, Ellen von Unwerth shot supermodel Claudia Schiffer wearing nothing but a lace bustier, gold hoop earrings and a blonde bouffant. Those black-and-white ads quickly became legendary… Eva Herzigova, Anna Nicole Smith, Carla Bruni, Drew Barrymore, Adriana Lima, Laetitia Casta, Irina Shayk, Paris Hilton, and Gigi Hadid followed suit and even Hollywood hottie Amber Heard has worked for the brand. Guess is the classic all-American girl.

A turning point…

 

‘Claudia was a turning point for Guess; she was a turning point of Ellen’s career. Guess was a turning point in life for Claudia,’  Paul Marciano, Chief Executive Officer and creative director of Guess as told to  Women’s Wear Daily. ‘Everybody talked about the Guess Girl.’

In fact, Schiffer was featured in a six Guess campaigns between 1989 and 1991 ‘I’m excited that 23 years later we can still work together so successfully,’ she tells Women’s Wear Daily. ‘Shooting the Guess 30th-anniversary campaign was like going back in time.’

The new campaign sees Claudia sitting on a scooter in Sorrento, Italy, wearing a lace bustier with skintight jeans. In another shot, she showcases a pair of daisy-print jeans while sitting on top of a golden desk, to really re-capture that original magic captured like lightning in a bottle, the talented Ellen von Unwerth is behind the lens again.

30 sexy years? Absolutely!
